A series is not always a set of works. Sometimes it’s seven frames and one really interesting experience. A few years ago, I again showed interest in film photography: I ordered coils from abroad — from different manufacturers, with different characters and parameters. Some of them have been familiar for a long time, some are a blank slate.

The first meeting with Rollei Blackbird (ISO 64) did not go well and I put it in the back drawer. That is — in the refrigerator.

The other day, the long-awaited sun came out, and I decided to give her a second chance. When developing, a colleague from fotolab.ru I suggested doing a push +1 for the sake of experiment. And as we know, this leads to an increase in contrast and grain. It turned out to be a fantastic gradient, which I want to consider on the print. No gaps in the shadows, but with a subtle play of light.

For me, a person accustomed to shooting at high ISO, it was extremely unusual. And the more valuable the result is — it exceeded all expectations.

If you see it on sale, take it without a doubt. The film is ageless and timeless.

Thanks for watching
