Hello. My name is Pavel Potseluev.
I like to shoot everything that is beautiful. It can be people, or the streets of cities. Or moments that are there now and disappear forever a second later. Many people know me as a master of the meat business, butcher, brand chef of the restaurant “Zhazhda Krovi” and the workshop of “Zozulinsky & Potseluev”. That’s right, everything is true, and on the site, from case to case, my passion will be felt not only for photography. But that’s not the point now.My father gave me my first camera when I was 14.
I quickly realized that I couldn’t live without him. It became an obsession, for which I was ready to change my plans. Sometimes, in childhood, boys play with cars and think: “When I grow up, I’ll buy one for myself.”
I grew up and bought myself Zenit, Seagull, Mamiya, Rolleiflex and Leica.
First, I bought up all the film I was familiar with. And when I took it to show — I saw that there are many others. The guy in the photo studio recommended a 1960s Kodak film to me. This is a real film, they shot a movie on it. No filters — as you removed it, so it will show. I’ve loved using it ever since. And a few more. In the list of favorites: Ilford HP5, Fuji Neopan Acros 2, Kodak Double X 5222, Rollei Blackbird, Rollei RPX, Kodak Portra and others.

Photography stops the moment
When you shoot on film, you think more, analyze before pressing the button. You never know the result in advance. And you can always make a mistake. This makes the film more human. And I’m smiling, even at me it turned out to be only one frame out of thirty-six. I work with black and white photographs because they leave room for imagination. You look at the photo and think about it. Everyone has something different. The photo stops the moment. Sometimes you want to freeze in a moment where you are surrounded by silence and harmony. When you look at a lonely tree. Or a warm sunset that rapidly goes over the horizon — you start to miss it as soon as the sun disappears.
I try to catch these moments in the viewfinder of my Watering Can. And also, I like to take pictures of things that are timeless. Not like us. People.
