After a long and extensive restoration, the Lev Nikolaevich House Museum reopened on Lva Tolstogo Street earlier this year. Having a special passion for places where history lives, I took a film camera with me (and I haven’t been anywhere without it lately) and stopped by for a visit.
The Tolstoy family spent nineteen winters in this estate, from 1882 to 1901, leaving for Yasnaya Polyana for the summer.
The last sunny day of autumn, the air with a touch of the past and an amazing sense of belonging to time. Full immersion is created by the territory itself and the house filled with warmth and silence. I sincerely recommend it to anyone who appreciates the breath of the era. I sincerely recommend that you read more about the last years of the great writer’s life.
It is open daily except Mondays. The last Friday of the month is a sanitary day.
