Varvara’s birthday — she’s the manager of Zhazhda Krovi. I shot on Kodak Portra 800 in low light, with a single external light source. The colours came out warm and expressive: exactly why I love film. Some of the frames unexpectedly reminded me of old school-leaving photos. They have a warmth that’s hard to recreate digitally.
